This comprehensive 12-hour workshop is designed to review supervision skills and meet the clinical supervision requirements of the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

The following aspects of supervision will be explored as we link theory and professional experiences to best practice:

1. Identify and define the purpose, role, and functions of supervision;
2. Define theories and models of supervision;
3. Explore and apply the skill sets necessary to provide oversight and guidance to a supervisee who diagnoses, creates treatment plans, and treats clients;
4. Explore the purpose and practice of both individual and group supervision in social work.
5. Review recent research related to the practice of clinical supervision.

You will receive 8 DVDs, a workbook/reference book, two enlightening articles, and a post-test to complete and mail back to us. If you pass the test with 80 percent or better, we will mail you a CEU certificate for the 12 hours of Clinical Supervision required by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners during the initial licensure period. Meet your presenter: Cynthia A. Lietz, PhD, LCSW is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work located on ASU's West campus. Cindy currently teaches research and practice classes for BSW and MSW students. Her research focuses on strength based practice in social work which includes exploring the construct of family resilience as well as looking at the implementation of strengths-based practice in child welfare, in mental health and in clinical supervision. Prior to coming to ASU, Cindy worked in social work practice with children and families for over 10 years as a therapist and clinical supervisor.
