Ethics In The Professional Context
By Laura Masters, ACSW, LCSW
Laura Masters has 23 years of experience in a variety of social work settings. Laura served as the Chief of Psychiatric Social Work for Menninger's Phoenix, worked in medical and mental health settings with St. Joseph's Hospital and Maricopa County Hospital and more recently, in private practice. Laura has volunteered with the Board of Behavioral Examiners, NASW-AZ and most recently teaches ethics at Arizona State University.
We will examine ethics in the social work context, review the NASW Code of Ethics and look at social work values in depth. The workshop will also cover real life dilemmas.
Outline of major topics to be covered:
I. Defining Professional Ethics
II. Reviewing Social Work Values as outlined in the NASW Code of Ethics
III. Discuss Real Life Dilemmas and application of the Code of Ethics
